When Myree Bowden, AKA "Reemix", attacks the basket, he only knows one way to go about his business. "When I get in the lane, I'm just going up to that rim," the 22-year-old says. "And I don't know when I'm coming back down." Bowden isn't playing either. The 6-1 Bakersfield, Calif., native and his 47" vertical have been known to unleash dunk after dunk at playgrounds all across the country.

Any scientist worth his salt will tell you that rubber does not react with wood. Leave the two in a test tube and years will pass without change to either substance. Heat gently, add water and shake, and the effect will be no more exciting than a WNBA preseason game. It is simply accepted as fact that the materials have no effect on one another. Myree Bowden, however, cares little for the laws of nature. Gravity, for example.
