ElevationMag: Mike, you had a great high school career but where did you learn the 'moves'? I assume you didn't get them from your high school. coach.
Ghost: Naw, my high school coach allowed me to dribble freely and believed I possessed something the average guard did not. But, the moves were definitely something inspired by them And1 tapes. I took what I saw and tried to do my own thing with it. ..read more..

Article
Mike Zanidean, 19, (pictured right) is using his experience at TAPS to do both. Although he did attend Maple Ridge's Westview Secondary in Grade 12, he failed to graduate on time and had to do some upgrading. "In a sense, it was a blessing in disguise for it opened this prep school option to me and I didn't have to go straight to a community college in B.C.," said Zanidean. Although Zanidean was a talented player during his time with Westview, his basketball options were extremely limited. It wasn't as if any teams were knocking on the door to sign him and even if they were, his academic record would have suffocated any type of interest immediately. "The group of friends I hung around with wasn't always the smartest with choices or ideas, but they always looked out for me and we all stayed tight," said Zanidean. Most of Zanidean's youth was spent on the basketball courts, developing his streetball game. Although it's not necessarily the most fundamentally sound way to develop basketball technique, Zanidean does credit a lot of his basketball repertoire to streetball.
