Princeton's 2nd Annual 3vs3 Charity Streetball Tournament.
"Blood, sweat and tears" gets a new meaning:
Princeton's 2nd Annual 3vs3 Charity Streetball Tournament a big success in its second edition. If you weren't there, you missed it. You missed it! A crowd of around 350 people didn't miss it and they got to see the best Streetball action Jersey has to offer. DJ Skeet Dawg, a popular college DJ here in Jersey, was spinnin' the turntables and puttin' on some nice Rap, Hip Hop, Dancehall mix. Mad nice I'm telling ya. We had Ghost and C-Stan from Dime, Handlez and 4D from Local as well as Whole Lotta Game and the Commissioner's Son from the Entertainers Basketball Classic (EBC). EBC announcer Al Cash hyped the crowd and did his thang, he made C-Stan shoot free throws, you can't come to the Rucker without your A-Game! The CEO of EBC himself, Greg Marius, came through!

25 teams competed in three leagues for a total of $900 in Foot Locker gift certificates (hey you can't go wrong with FL). In the end it was "Team Streetball" from Princeton, NJ which prevailed over "Team Little Dude" and "U Don't Know Me" to win the crown in the Men's Competitive League and $400. In the Women's league team "f & m" from Teaneck, NJ staid undefeated throughout the entire tournament and won the title as well as $300. The Men's Recreational League proved to be very competitive with the "3 Amigos" from Princeton, NJ taking the crown and the $200.

The 3pt contest was fiya. The guy who won is a NCAA Division III All-American. He has a stroke, no kidding, his team finished runner-up. He easily swished 14 in a row and in total 23 out of 26 in the semis. One of our sponsors, a representative from Hewitt Associates and former Princeton NCAA Division I Basketball player (back in the 80's!), battled him in the final but lost only by a few buckets. Both of these guys were lighting up the building. The Slam Dunk contest was "sick." Can't even describe it, you gotta see it. 4D from Local had some crazy hops going on and out-dunked the competition. Make 'em say "UUHHHHHH" In the Streetball All-Star Game Ghost, C-Stan, Handlez, 4D, Whole Lotta Game and the Commissioner's Son took the court against the tournament's best players. You name it we saw it! Behind the back, alley-oops, sick-high-flying action, thru the legs, it was all there.

To spice up the entertainment part, we had the girls of Princeton's Black Arts Company perform. They sure did their thang. We had so many free giveaways (and free food and refreshments), people had to get a shopping cart to get all their stuff outta the gym. DVDs, T-Shirts, Basketballs... 4D said it best, "I wish this was every weekend man!" We are currently working on putting together a mixtape that we'll send out to everyone interested. Leave us a shout at www.princeton-streetball.com and be sure to check out the rest of our site. Until next year...
