Well this is my first entry to my streetballin.net diary and i'm excited to see how this goes. Its 2 am and I just got off the internet talking to my boy, Van City’s own, Yash about some goal setting. I got a pretty big summer coming up consisting of: London Hoop it up, Toronto Hoop it up, Montreal Hoop it up, Buffalo Hoop it up, Philadelphia Hoop it up, Top gun Molson Indy tournament, Nyce Tournament, and a few more local Toronto tournaments. ..read more..
28/05 -The Pharmacist in the ABA? The ABA Chicago Rockstars are considering signing AND1 mixtape tour star Jamar "The Pharmacist" Davis. He will be in attendance at the Rockstars second player tryout camp to be held on June 3. "We feel that the Pharmacist is an exciting player, but we would like to see him play in an organized setting," said head coach Kenny Williams. "Street ball players have been getting unjust criticism that their game is limited to the playground level. 19/05 - Stampede fall to Seattle in overtime
Despite receiving 50 points from Eric Fiegi, the Salem Stampede fell 133-126 in overtime to the Seattle Mountaineers in an International Basketball League game Friday night before an estimated 350 fans at the Salem Armory. "Our legs just got tired," said Fiegi, the former Corban College star. The game marked Grayson "The Professor" Boucher's final appearance of the season for the Stampede. 16/05 - "8th Wonder" making most of professional life
In September 2005 Antwan "8th Wonder" Scott finally got the break he'd been waiting for. The problem was, it happened on one of the worst days of his life. While attending his aunt's funeral, Scott received a call from his agent, notifying him he was selected to play professional basketball in Turkey. The Wake Forest graduate grappled with mixed emotions. "I got the call saying (I) had to leave in a couple of days,' Scott said. 'I was like, "My aunt just died." The New Bern native worked through his grief and decided to take the offer. "I still know I've got a job to do, and I still know I've got to live my life as well," Scott said. "I didn't like getting that call at that time, but I knew what I had to do."..read more..
14/05 -"Above & Beyond" narrowly misses record dunk
Wayne Clark has scars on his head from collisions with backboards. With a 48-inch vertical, Clark says he sometimes forgets where he is when he goes up to block a shot or grab a rebound. On one occasion, he knocked himself out because he hit the backboard so hard. "They carried me out on a stretcher that time," quipped Clark. Still chasing the dream of playing in the NBA, Clark is now a guard for the Cedar Valley Jaguars of the International Basketball League. Friday, the 6-foot-3 1/2 native of Trenton, N.J., attempted to make history in Waterloo by breaking the Guinness world record for highest dunk. ..read more..

They call him "Hot Sauce," and here's why: He's the world's most exciting street basketball player. He and a couple of friends will be part of the "It's Cool to be Smart" basketball game featuring some hot playing in the Hudson Valley's first "Ultimate Slam Dunk Contest." Turns out Grayson Boucher, aka "the Professor" of And 1 Mix Tape Tour and ESPN Street Ball fame, can actually play some "real" basketball. He isn't all flash and dance. Playing point guard for the IBL's Salem Stampede, he had games of 24 points and seven assists against Portland and 18 points and nine assists against Vancouver recently."I knew I'd be a good ballhandler, but I got my shot back to where it was," he says. ..read more..

09/05 -Recognition for Playground Basketball Stars
Frank McQueen's hopes are still higher than his hops, but the road to stardom and a huge N.B.A. contract are not as promising as they were when McQueen, who is 29 and known as the Sniper, was a star at Dunbar High School in Washington. McQueen's road has been a long and bumpy one, covered in hardwood and blacktop and filled with signs pointing toward obscurity. It is a road traveled by thousands who have given their lives to basketball, and their trip is fueled by the wish for a moment of national exposure.
