31/07 - EBC @ Rucker - Week 6
Happy hoops oxymoron No. 1: in an ever younger and more individualistic NBA, the last two titles were won by the furiously fundamental Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs. Happy hoops oxy Number 2: "You need superstars to win a championship"? The Pistons super, Ben Wallace, is a DEFENSIVE player of all things.

26/07 - Tru to the Game Vol2 Review by "CHECK-IT-OUT"
Now I've heard people say that how can one guy hold down a mixtape, and it will get boring watching the same dude, well your wrong this is possibly one of the best tapes I've seen in awhile, FIRST off the editing is the sickest for any mixtape, its so clean and professional Loh really outdid himself and has a real career ahead in editing.

26/07 - EBC @ Rucker - Week 5
Monday night, at the Entertainers' Basketball Classic at Rucker Park, we've seen the future -- and in more ways than one. There was, of course, Molloy Naismith -- a.k.a. "The Future" -- the talented-but-tiny guard who decided to enter the NBA draft a few years ago after averaging 2.5 ppg. in junior college.

26/07 - Alimoe, Homicide & Best Kept Secret Interviews
Dimemag had a chance to catch up with some of the stars of the EBC at the NBA Store in Manhattan yesterday to talk about the state of the league and why there's no place to ball like Rucker Park. ALIMOE Dime:What makes playing in the EBC at Rucker Park different from every other park in the world?

26/07 - Is Terror Squad in Trouble?
In the first game of EBC action last night we saw Don Diva take on Kennedy Center. Kennedy Center, riding high off of their upset of BMF last week, was trying to keep their winning streak alive. The first half belonged to Don Diva's "Bone Collector. Bone put on a show for the fans, scoring at will and crossing up Kennedy Center's "The Counselor" multiple times.

25/07 - Streetballers showcase tricks of their trade
A player dribbling a basketball between his legs is an impressive trick. But how about dribbling between the legs of an opponent? Or bouncing a pass off an opponent's head? Or dunks dropped in so smoothly that they resemble routine layups? Some of the Treasure Coast's best basketball players swallowed a heaping spoonful of humility as they squared off with three professional streetballers Saturday in a "HoopStar" three-on-three tournament.

20/07 - Got game? Streetball team wants you
They dunk, talk junk, dribble between their legs and their opponents' legs as well. Play defense? Whatever. They have cool names: Helicopter, Half Man, Half Amazing, Syk Wit It. They are the And 1 Mix Tape team, high-flying streetballers coming to spank area players at the Charlotte Coliseum on Thursday.

19/07 - The Rucker (Movie)
All street basketball players dream of making the pros, of flashing their baddest moves in front of the cameras and wowing millions of viewers the same way they impress their playground fans. But for every player who makes it, countless others fall short and watch their dreams rattle off the rim. Those others - guys like Troy Burgess, 24, a gritty point guard from the Bronx - got a second chance at stardom yesterday.

19/07 - EBC @ Rucker - Week 4
There's an air of unreality hovering over EBC Rucker tonight. And small wonder: though the weatherman gasps "96", on the melting green asphalt it feels like 120 degrees in the shade -- except there's no shade.

18/07 - EBC America in Washington D.C.
EBC America hit the road this past weekend for another exciting day of the EBC America tournament at D.C's Kennedy Center. Four D.C. teams were set to go head to head to see who can be called the best and represent their City in the championship week of the EBC tournament in New York City.

17/07 - Shaking the streets
Legitimate streetballers have more than just a cool name and a big bag of tricks. They have the game to back it up. From the corner of the court, Earthquake calls for a clearout. His teammates oblige. Spectators notice. It's Earthquake and the defender, one on one. Showtime. Of course, Earthquake wants to put the ball in the hoop, but how he does that is more important.

17/07 - Professor schools his competition
Imagine the students' surprise on the first day of lessons, when they entered the classroom and encountered The Professor. Imagine the spectators' surprise in the days after and even still, when they sign up for the course and are greeted with this in front of the chalkboard: a 5-foot-10 white kid who weighs 140 pounds. Twigs for legs. Spaghetti noodles for arms. A round, smooth face with peach fuzz on top.

15/07 - Mountain Dew and GMC Thursdays
Mountain Dew Code Red Thursday kicked off at the EBC summer tournament as Hot 97's DJ Enough spun his 5 o'clock free ride from the park. The first contest was "a game of basketball without dribbling," Al Cash announced. The idea was created by fellow announcer Booby Smooth. Two out of towners from Albany and Georgia took to center court to see who could make it first to 10 without dribbling the ball.

15/07 - Rain Doesn't Change the Game
Another exciting day at the EBC tournament was on its way and the stands were packed. Announcer Al Cash was checking out the crowd to find the perfect candidate for "Makeover Tuesdays," in which they pick out a not so well dressed fan to be made over by the EBC team. It didn't take long before he spotted a young gentleman who was compared to a bum on the train.

15/07 - EBC at Madison Square Garden
The thrill of playground basketball is coming to the professional court. On Sunday August 21, EBC playground legends will join with professional players at the world famous arena in the ultimate 1st Annual EBC All-Star Game. 14/07 - The And1 Mixtape - The Tampa Stop
In the basketball world the "Streetball" phenomenon continues to grow, and the reach of the streetball style is crossing more and more borders. Nothing is truer than the story of Yuichiro "Flash" Morishita. You may recognize the name; he played some JUCO ball for New Hampshire in the states, was in the USBL in Brooklyn, played some ABA ball and was drafted by Charleston Lowgators of the NBDL.

14/07 - And 1 Mixtape Tour 2005 Miami
Hurricane Dennis wasn't the only inexorable power passing through South Florida that weekend, however. These folks were also anticipating the arrival of another force of nature capable of blowing people away, tearing up the court, and sending anyone who gets in the way to the emergency room. This mass was gathered for the sole purpose of witnessing first-hand the damage caused by the squad of elite ballers assembled to wreak havoc on the unfortunate souls who find themselves in the danger zone.

14/07 - And1 Hoopsvibe Interviews
Recently, HoopsVibe caught up with some of the And1 players during the Miami leg of the And 1 Mixtape Tour 2005. C.Y. Ellis: What would you say has been the best moment in your career as a streetball player so far?
High Octane - Baby Shaq - Spider - Pharmacist

12/07 - SBA All-Stars Journey to Jakarta
SBA All-stars, Pat Da-Roc, Zeke the Freak aka SuperNatural, and Southern Comfort represented American Street Ball to the fullest during Indonesia's CrushBone Basketball National Championships hosted in Jakarta, produced by Star Mild Entertainment and the Street Basketball Association. 11/07 - AND 1 team left hopping mad
In a game filled with unbelievable highlights, the local squad shocked the AND 1 team, which blew a 21-point lead. The Pharmacist got the pass in the lane. No opponent was in the same time zone. But the pudgy 5-7 guard didn't take the easy layup for the AND 1 Mix Tape Tour team. The Pharmacist spread his legs wide, dribbled the ball between them and then in one motion made a perfect alley-oop pass to Spyda for a thunderous dunk.

01/07 - EBC @ Rucker - Week 2
I can't believe it's not Rucker; indoors, in the Gaucho's Gym and out of the Park-ay, the Entertainers' Basketball Classic is just as slammin'-- especially with Adrian "A. Butter" Walton doing his smooth thing on the very same hardwood where he once lit up Vince Carter for 32 points. But the slammin' is done in a somewhat different fashion.

01/07 - What it takes to be on the And1 Mixtape Tour.
Sante Gayle, aka 757, chuckles about the heat. He's just finished playing a tour date in Oklahoma City. "Thank God. We got air-conditioning on the bus," he says. But when asked about a different kind of heat - the pressure of being an unsigned player on the And1 Mixtape Tour - he grows serious.
