26/01 - Spin Master to play in Lebanon
Orange County, CA. The ABA Orange County Buzz excitedly announced the opportunity of three of its players making signings overseas. Although the Buzz's record doesn't reflect the talent that the team has, Eric "Spinmaster" Holmes (of And1 Tour fame), John Janssen (a key component to the Buzz's early start), and Adam Parada have joined former teammates Ronell Mingo and Deon "BO" Williams overseas to play ball. Holmes signed to a team in Lebanon, Janssen to a team in Swedan, Parada to a team in Jordan.
26/01 - Gus Macker Tournament may get bounced
In basketball terms, the Gus Macker 3-on-3 tournament has been rejected big-time by London city staff. It has been recommended the city's policy for special events and procedures be amended to prohibit athletic competitions from taking place in Victoria Park. If council passes the recommendation, it means the Gus Macker will have to find another place for its 900 teams.
20/01 - Hot Sauce Re-signs with And1
Following months of intense speculation, the unthinkable finally went down as blacktop legend Philip "Hot Sauce" Champion inked a new contract with streetball giants And1, the company which first introduced his dazzling dribbling abilities to the world. Despite allegations of bad blood between the two parties and a well-documented beef with current star Jamar "The Pharmacist" Davis, agent Mark Edwards today contacted HoopsVibe to reveal details of the shock signing.
14/01 - We Reminisce | God Shammgod
His nickname was "The Wizard." "That was his handle because he had a crossover like a magician," says Bobby Gonzalez, God Shammgod’s friend and former coach at Providence College. That’s the same crossover that God taught to Kobe Bryant on a summer AAU squad in 1994. Those are the same handles that took 10-seed Providence to the Elite 8 in 1997.
14/01 - Nighthawks Propose To Pacers For Artest
Rockville, MD-The Maryland Nighthawks of the American Basketball Association (ABA) announced today that they are proposing a trade to the NBA's Indiana Pacers for small forward Ron Artest. The Nighthawks would send two of their star players, Randy "White Chocolate" Gill and Lawrence Moten, to the Pacers in exchange for Ron Artest. Gill's star was launched when he won a nationally televised "Streetball" competition.

07/01 - Alston puts instant jolt in Rockets
In the Rockets' sudden, unexpected eruption of offensive numbers Tuesday - with a season high in nine team or individual categories - some were overlooked. In addition to scoring more points and getting more assists than he had in any game for the Rockets, Rafer Alston collected five beaming smiles, three agonized scowls, two hugs of officials and one clear statement that he was back, just in time to return to Toronto on Friday.
05/01 - Alston rips into Mitchell
As Rafer Alston tells it, the Raptors went into their games last season completely unprepared. Making his first appearance at the Air Canada Centre since he was traded to Houston, the Rockets guard ripped Raptors coach Sam Mitchell on Friday, saying he did a poor job of getting the team ready to play. "I love to be prepared," Alston said before Toronto's 112-92 victory over the Rockets on Friday.
