21/08 - AND1 Tour Hop-Steps Into MCI Tonight
The AND 1 Mix Tape Tour, whose emphasis on dunks over defense and trash-talk over chalk talk has vaulted AND 1 from being a niche clothing line to a major athletic apparel manufacturer, culminates tonight at MCI Center. Attendance for the tour is up 30 percent this year, averaging about 7,000 spectators per game. About 10,000 are expected at tonight's event, which begins at 7:30. |

The AND1 Mixtape Tour 2004 featuring the best streetball basketball players in the world invites anyone who thinks they can ball to its Open Run 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13 inside the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. Originally planned at a make shift court outdoors, the Open Run was moved inside because of inclement weather possibilities. |

Rafer Alston, who earlier this summer, signed a multi-year contract with the Toronto Raptors was in vintage Skip to My Lou form playing streetball in the EBC at Rucker Park earlier this week. | 20/08 - Bigger $ are taking the street out of streetball
Streetball has gone from cracked pavement courts and rusted rims to shiny hardwood floors and air-conditioned arenas. And while the playing surface has improved, the product hasn't. The 2004 AND 1 Mixtape Tour made its stop in Raleigh Tuesday, featuring what it claims are the best streetball players in the world. AND 1, a basketball shoe and apparel company, has been doing the Tour for several years now and producing mixtapes (and now DVDs) of the highlights from each one. |

The longest - as well as craziest, wildest, wackiest, nuttiest, best, phattest, and skinniest -- championship game in streetball history is more than likely still going on. |

It's high theater -- even higher than usual -- before the long-awaited championship matchup at the Entertainer's Basketball Classic at Rucker Park. There are a plethora of Ruff Ryders taking their warm-up shots on one side of the sizzling asphalt. But Terror Squad is largely -- this is Fat Joe's team, after all -- absent, with approximately zero minutes left on the clock. |

17/08 - "And 1 Mix Tape Tour" visits Raleigh
The 2004 "And 1 Mix Tape Tour" is bouncing through Raleigh. The streetball event made a tour stop in the area Monday with appearances at Washington Elementary School, the RBC Center and Crabtree Valley Mall. On Tuesday, the basketball players will hit the court for a game at the RBC Center. |

Vol. 7 introduces the world to AND 1 NBA endorsers that have that street swagger. Including Jason Williams, Ricky Davis, Speedy Claxton and Skip. Volume 7 also introduces the newest breed of streetball legends including the Professor, Go Get It and Helicopter. And it would not be an official AND 1 Mixtape if it didn't have a banging soundtrack with tracks from today's hottest hip hop artists including the Beastie Boys. |

Friends Ralph Mata and Adrian Thomas made sure to arrive on time for the Open Run of the AND1 Mixtape Basketball Tour Friday afternoon, Aug. 13 at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. They not only reached the finals but were selected for Team Miami -- the opposition later that night - against AND1, the best streetballers in the world. |

For one day last week the Target Center in Minneapolis became a circus tent for some of the most freakish basketball athletes in the world. Guys with names like Hot Sauce, Prime Objective, Helicopter, and the Professor displayed their physical gifts to the thousands of teenage to mid-twenties fans that filled the lower bowl. |
