“Nike Battlegrounds 2003″ chronicles the day-to-day action of America?s top streetball warriors as they battle for the right to wear the Nike Battlegrounds crown. Nike Battlegrounds is the ultimate summer basketball one-on-one tournament that took place in NYC, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, Philly and Toronto during the summer of 2003. A king of the court was crowned in each city then the kings from each city battled it out in a one-on-one street ball game in NYC. It was epic. The winner of the championship tournament was crowned the Battlegrounds King and won a Nike billboard appearance and a cash prize. The program, produced by Wieden & Kennedy/Radical Media, aired on MTV in September 2003 to rave reviews and strong ratings.
